So I guess they were talking on the radio yesterday about names. Are there names that should be either boy or girl???? Example that they used was Kim. I know a girl Kim, love her, strictly girlish. But I also went to school with a boy Kim. And back then ( yes in the good ole 80’s ) The boy Kim actually dated a girl named Kim. So we always messed with them calling them Kim-Kim, Kim to the 2nd Power, etc. But they were talking about a whole bunch of names like Kelly , Shannon, Taylor, Alex, Cameron, which if you think about it you probably know both sexes with those names. And it is true we do stereotype some names with certain gender. I had a visitor that I called to the back at work one day and asked for Stacy, well this big dude stood up. My first reaction was to check the name I written down. Then proceeded with hello Stacy. Yes, Stacy was a big burly man.
As we proceeded to talk about this, I did have someone say the only reason people give names like that to their children is because they really wanted the other sex of child. Now I’m totally confused. Don’t you really just name your child after a name you really like. 🤔🤔🤔
And I guess I wonder what makes a name a girl name or what makes a name a boy name?????
But it would be sweet if I met a male Jennifer 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hilarious 😂 👆🏼
Its hard enough naming a child , we also seem to name associate the name. Ok , admit it we all do it. How many of you were going to name a child but you could name the child that because you knew someone with that name you didn’t like. Or the girl was a whore, or the guy was an asshole. So a perfectly good name is now tarnished because of one person.🤣🤣 We throw names around daily with new babies arriving and the feedback is so funny, and very interesting.
Bottom line ……it’s your child, you pick the name , and around here it really doesn’t matter your name because the main mate nick names everyone! 👍🏻
